08 Dec Celebrate With The Best Sparkling Wines

When it comes to celebrations, popping open a bottle of bubbly is the way to go; whether you are ringing in the New Year, hosting a birthday party or simply relaxing in the company of friends, there are a number of different sparkling wines to choose from; here are some of the best sparkling wines:

#1 Pol Roger Brut

This is a non-vintage bone-dry Brut that has equal proportions of Pinot Meunier Chardonnay and Pinot Noir; it has very distinctive flavours if sweet florals and citrus scents as well as undertones of warm spice baking. On the palate you would be able to distinguish tart nuances of deep-seated minerality and Granny Smith apple flavourings with a very round and persistent finish.

#2 Piper-Heidsieck Brut Cuvée

This full-fledged, non-vintage champagne is perfect for any celebration. It has the right mix of zesty citrus and yeasty notes, a smoky minerality with very well-managed vibrant fruit flavours. It’s practical and luxurious all at once with its rich textures, solid structure, fine bubbles and medium body.

#3 Veuve Clicquot Brut Champagne

This is classic reasonably-priced champagne, full of fragrant flavours. Its nutty notes blend in perfectly with the stone fruit tones and it has the perfect combination of mouth-watering acidity and mineraliy on the finish. If you are looking for a real champagne without having to shell out huge amounts of money, this is the bubbly to try.

#4 Gloria Ferrer Blanc de Noirs

This delightful cuvée is built on 92 percent Pinot Noir and 8 percent Chardonnay. It carries highly rich and creamy textures with ripe strawberry fruit flavours grounded in warm spice with just a swirl of toasty, vanilla notes. It pairs perfectly with various appetisers and goes well with foods ranging from pork or lamb dishes as well as sushi or salmon-inspired hors-d’oeuvres.

#5 J Vineyards Brut Rose

This is stellar Brut Rose that’s made to cater to the Pinot Noir fans. It’s made of 66 percent Pinot Noir, 33 percent Chardonnay and 1percent of Pinot Meunier. With an alcohol level of 12.5%, it is a versatile, lively, versatile, blush-colored, well-managed brut. It has distinct red cherry fruit, with just a dash of strawberry and engaging, bright acidity, followed by a decidedly lingering dry finish.

#6 Freixenet Cordon Negro Brut

This Spanish sparkling wine is a blend of three Spanish grapes – Parellada, Macabeo, and Xarel-lo. The fruit is able to shine with green apple, lime and lemon rounding and lends this bubbly a very well-balanced acidity.

#7 Chandon Blanc de Noirs

The bubbly is a white wine that’s made from red grapes; it starts off with a noticeable bright cherry profile with just a dash of strawberry and has a rounded mid-palate with a very well-maintained, persistent finish.

#8 Mumm Napa Cuvée M

This sparkler has amazing strawberry components; with a number of citrus nuances that blend very well with the overall elegant structure, style and lively acidity of this reasonably-priced Napa Valley bubbly.
