Our client acquired a new home with a basic “cellar” – essentially a small, rudimentary storage space situated between the bottom two levels of the house. They envisioned a fully functional wine cellar featuring climate control, a traditional aesthetic, and an elevated sense of luxury. To prepare the space for this transformation, we undertook several key design and structural modifications. This included and was not limited to, lowering the ground level by 600mm, pouring a new slab, dismantling and rebuilding an existing sandstone wall, installing new structural beams, filling in an old doorway, and cutting a new entrance. The finished wine cellar exceeded our clients’ expectations, providing them with a space they truly enjoyed.
